Professor Trevor BOND is an Adjunct Professor in the College of Arts, Society and Education at James Cook University, Australia, and held the same position at the Faculty of Education at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. He was previously Professor and Head of the EPCL Department at the Hong Kong Institute of Education , and then a Visiting Professorial Scholar to HKIEd. He is internationally regarded as author (with Christine Fox) of the best-selling book, “Applying the Rasch model: Fundamental measurement in the human sciences.” The third edition appeared in 2015.
Prof Bond acts as a measurement consultant to government and private testing authorities and is a specialist reviewer for journals across a wide range of the human sciences. In 2005, he established PROMS – the annual Pacific Rim Objective Measurement Symposium – as a means for supporting the development of Rasch measurement expertise in SE Asia. He continues to conduct regular workshops throughout the area.
